SiCOMB as a case-study at the XXV AVI Conference on Material, Interfaces, Processes in Industrial and Basic Research Application
The Italian Association of Science and Technology (AIV – Associazione Italiana di Scienza e Tecnologia) is organizing its XXV Conference.
The event will take place between 10 and 12 May 2022 at the Monumental Complex of S. Maria la Nova, an ancient Angevin foundation in the heart of the historic center of Naples (Italy). The title for this 25th edition of AIV Conference is “Material, Interfaces, Processes in Industrial and Basic Research Application”, setting the scene for addressing issues related to materials and processing, in both the research and manufacturing communities. This three-day Conference will host several speakers from various Universities, research centers and companies coming from Italy and beyond, representing an occasion to present, discuss and listen to the most recent advances in vacuum science, technology and related fields.
The program will include six sections that will take place over the three days (an abstract of every contribution is available on the event website at the program section):
- The Plenary session, opening the Conference.
- The section “Surfaces: Science and Engineering”.
- A section on “Nuclear Fusion Technology”.
- A fourth section entitled “Additive Manufacturing: ”Materials, Technologies and Applications”.
- A section addressing “Innovation in Vacuum Technology and new challenged in large systems”.
- The last section on “Renewable Energies and Environment”.
Project Coordinator Haiyan Ou (Associate Professor at the Technical University of Denmark, DTU) will deliver a presentation introducing “SiComb – Developing an innovative chip-based optical frequency comb”. SiComb will be therefore presented as case study of breakthrough EU project.
Furthermore, other partners of the project’s consortium will be present at the XXV AVI Conference, as the Politecnico of Torino – with several scientific contribution more or less related to SiComb – and Moverim Sprl – with a contribution on Horizon Europe opportunities and perspectives. In conclusion, this three-day Conference will represent a multidisciplinary environment aimed at fostering a cross fertilization between attendees on emerging technologies.
